Bill Gates and Big Oil back company that tries to suck CO2 out of the air

Updated: Aug 1, 2019

Carbon Engineering, a company based in Squamish, British Columbia, is so passionate about the environment that they have built a plant that can suck carbon dioxide out of the air.

By recreating the process that the equivalent millions of trees do, they are able to use a combination of giant fans and complex chemical processes to capture CO2. This procedure is known as Direct Air Capture.

Bill Gates backs this company, along with other large companies such as Chevron, BHP and Occidental. While this technology isn't completely new, there are more people aware of the current issue with climate change and they want to get behind this to stay ahead.

If you want to be able to reduce your carbon footprint and do your part to reduce climate change, you can have a home energy assessment to see what your energy usage is and how you can reduce it.
