Employees of the largest retail company are calling for action to be taken in order to reduce the company's carbon footprint. Workers found out that the goals to reach net zero and be 100% run on renewable energy has no deadline, so they sent a letter to CEO Jeff Bezos.
Jeff has recognized the opportunity that Amazon has to be a climate leader in the world, but employees have found that donations were made to legislators who are known to delay or vote against climate change.
Employees are pushing to get an official plan in place where the details are unveiled to combat the large carbon footprint of Amazon.
An Amazon spokesperson didn't go into details, but did say that the company will begin to create programs to bring their shipments down to net zero, as well as other climate change practices.
